Child Evangelism Fellowship of NC Foothills Chapter
Good News Clubs
Good News Clubs are a major part of our ministry here in the Foothills Chapter. A Good News Club meets in elementary schools, right after school one day a week for approximately an hour. For our 2020-21 season, we will begin with online clubs. Each child that attends must have a permission slip signed by a parent. During these Good News Clubs these children have music, memory verses, a Bible lesson, missionary stories and games. Each part includes the Gospel or at least a part of the Gospel. Good News Clubs are free to all students. Good News Clubs start in September after labor day and continue until spring break.
All of our Good News Clubs use the same curriculum published by our headquarters. Our curriculum runs in 6 week cycles and includes Old and New Testament stories.
Good News Clubs are taught by local volunteers from churches. A church adopts the Good News Club at the school and supports it financially and with volunteers to teach the club. All volunteers have a national background check through Protect My Ministry background checking agency and have been through 6 hours of training on how to counsel a child for salvation and how to teach children. Volunteers have also been trained in the child protection policy ensuring the protection of the children and volunteers.
Currently in the Foothills Chapter there are 43 Good News Clubs in Elementary schools and 3 Good News Clubs in local YMCA's. We serve approximately 2,022 children weekly through the Good News Clubs. If you are interested in knowing if your child's school has a Good News Club you can contact the school or call our office at 704- 473-4259.
If you would like to become involved with Good News Club there is always a need for volunteers, prayer partners and financial partners. Please feel free to call the office to get more information on how you can help!
